Acequia
Plaza
Acequia Plaza
is a three building multi-use property in the heart of downtown
San Antonio, two blocks from the Bexar County Courthouse and
San Fernando Cathedral.
The project has approximately 86,000 square feet of space. It includes
on-site parking as well as a separate parking lot half a block
away. Acequia Plaza was built in the 1930s by the Kallison
Family, with the South Flores Building originally built for
the Packard automobile
dealership. In the mid 1940s, the South Flores Building served
as the Headquarters for the Nation’s first Spanish language radio
station,
KCOR-AM 1350 on the dial. In 1999 the three building complex changed
hands and underwent major exterior renovations.
Today,
Acequia Plaza stands to benefit from its changing surroundings
which include two high rise luxury condominium towers one block
away on
the San Antonio river.
